Ivo Alvarone – COINCIDENCES – abstract drawings

21 November 2020 Abstract Calligraphy Artists' Blog Minimalism Painting Post-painterly Abstraction

Ivo Alvarone in delicate “Coincidences” abstract drawings talks about his world, combining poetic elements with individual intimacy. His work is always the beginning of a story that leads the viewer to the threshold of an unknown and fantastic world. In his abstract drawings, Ivo composes shapes and forms of the image with which he freely plays. Elements of the drawing intertwine with the background to tell images composed of both anxiety and beauty, evolution and analysis. Ivo Alvarone’s abstract drawings are full of symbolism, emotional tension capable of displaying very subtle emotions. “Coincidences” is a perverse record of very individual feelings contained in fabulous compositions of fantastic plants creating unreal landscapes.

His abstract drawings focus on the structure of materials, he prefers to work in various media. By clearly presenting weight and movement, Ivo loves to create tension, dramatic – shapes and forms can reflect basic emotional experiences.

Alvarone does not know the origin of his inspiration. Inspiration for an artist often means a surge of unexpected inspiration. You have to be able to use it. It is an idea that is here and now. In the face of inspiration, the artist is helpless and unaware of its origin.
Alvarone’s approach to abstract drawing is based on the thesis that inspiration is the result of reflections and studying of a problem. When I find a landscape that bothers me or fascinates me, I draw and make notes. He noticed that the world around me provides me with materials for further reflection. And then there is the process of translating all the experiences into sketches. However, the subject itself is only an excuse to paint another abstract drawing.
