The series was created during last 5 years. These are large-size drawings (ca. 50x65cm), but there are also a few smaller ones.
I use circle or an ellipse as a main form. Circle is a basic form in the inanimate world (on a macro scale: planets, stars, galaxies) and in human culture (the oldest symbols are circles), it is also the most perfect geometric form.
Within a circle I create a kind of network using various connections of lines. In this series, I use mainly short, stiff lines. Ellipses are created by repetitions of single, simple and softer lines.
The titles of the works refer to human relationships, such as “Broken connections”, “The marathon of time” or to mythology such as “Cyclops eye”.
I will always come back to drawing of circles.
Op-art (abstract, minimalistic, op-art, 3d, simplicity)
In her minimalistic drawings the viewer can experience some op-art effects. Crossing and repetitive lines give a 3d expression and in some cases it creates an imprint on the retina, even when closing eyes. Artist uses only black and white colours to create her abstract expressions of nature. Her works through its simplicity invite the viewer to focus on the simple things in life.
