Bio

Tadeusz Groch – An Artist Who Shapes Space in Plaster and Plastic Masses
Tadeusz Groch is an artist who fully utilizes the potential of materials in his work, giving them a lively form and three-dimensional character. His spatial paintings, made of plaster and plastic masses, are fascinating works in which the material itself becomes part of the narrative. The artist not only paints, but models space, creating works that engage the viewer at the level of touch, sensitivity and imagination.

In his work, Groch reaches for materials that are both light and heavy, and their rawness combined with the finesse of shaping forms gives his paintings a unique texture and depth. Plaster – a classic sculptural material, with a subtle, almost ethereal character – in his hands becomes a material that transfers delicacy into space, but also the power of shapes, and various plastic masses add dynamics and expression to the works.

Art Statement

Each painting by Tadeusz Groch is a unique story about matter that goes beyond the plane, breaking the boundaries of traditional painting. The plaster reliefs in his works create intricate compositions that change depending on the light, and the plastic masses that the artist uses allow for the creation of effects that are both subtle and powerful. His paintings, although spatial, remain light in form, thanks to which they introduce a sense of anxiety but also harmony into the space. Groch is an artist who does not limit himself to traditional creative methods. His works show an attempt to combine painting with sculpture, and each element is thought out to create a strong impression, both visual and tactile. His paintings become interactive spaces, in which shapes emerge from the plane, as if drawing the viewer into their world.
