Art StatementMy fascination is for the eternal, for the ancient and spiritual. I have always tried to find some answers in history and other cultures as to what it means to be human. Bedded in the stream of many generations whose thoughts and feelings we carry within us without knowing it. Finding and newly interpreting the shapes and symbols of „…inner lives and common cultural roots that lie between the real and the imaginary“ is my reality and deepest pleasure.
Some of my paintings have a strong connotation with music. I started practicing ballet when I was four years old and carried on dancing until my early twenties; ballet was always very important to me. Therefore dancing was my first experience of “touching and dissolving in the universe”. Nowadays, when I paint, I often listen to loud music (contemporary or classical) and sometimes I dance in my studio. Music is one of those universal eternal symbols that unites humans rather than divides them.
