O-A: What is art to you? Is creating an urge, necessity or maybe an incontournable, essential way of life?
Aneta Tamulienė: Painting is a way of self-expression for me. It’s freedom of thought, it’s my time when I allow myself to think nothing without being guided by intuition or inner mood. To be in that moment. The canvas colours and me. I never know what the outcome will be, but that process is the most important and fun part of everything for me.
O-A: What wouldn’t you do without art? What did you discover, achieve with it?
Aneta Tamulienė: What I do renders me great joy. The path to the result is not always easy and clear, but those searches and experiments are an inevitable part of improvement.
O-A: Who or what inspired you artistically; a person, artist, event, experience…
Aneta Tamulienė: Life itself inspires me. Mostly it’s nature, music and travel.
O-A: What was the most interesting statement you heard about your work?
Aneta Tamulienė: I have heard comments about my paintings that they are “deep”.
O-A: How do you search for inspiration and themes for your work?
Aneta Tamulienė: Music comes as a frequently inspiration for me. I rarely became silent, almost always choosing music according to the mood of the moment. And the styles are as diverse as possible…starting from classical music, lounge to RNB or pop music…
O-A: How has your art changed over time? Why?
Aneta Tamulienė: My paintings keep changing, but they all have one and unique stroke characteristic to me.
O-A: What names do you give your artworks?
Aneta Tamulienė: The names of the pictures come from the picture itself, from what I see, what thoughts it evokes, and where those brushstrokes “take” me.
O-A: What do you usually talk about with your collectors?
Aneta Tamulienė: I don’t know how to talk about pictures and I don’t like to do it, and I would like them to talk by themselves…;)
