What is art to you? Is creating an urge, necessity or maybe an incontournable, essential way of life?

Yes, it’s a way of life in the meaning that I chose art as the center of my life.
Who or what inspired you artistically; a person, artist, event, experience…
Adrianna Boussac / Adri-: My inspirations are masters like Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko, Robert Raushenberg, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Nicolas de Stael, Soulages, Egon Schiele, Zao Wou Ki, Bonnard, Matisse and more recently the amazing work of Fabienne Verdier. It’s not an exhaustive list, I mean there is a lot more but I can’t list everybody.
I’m also touched by the contemporary dance, all kind of music, street art, photography, philosophy…
When I ‘m creating a new series of work, the city where I live at the moment is also a big source of inspiration. The lights, the colors, the nature, the horizon, the architecture, people…

How do you search for inspiration and themes for your work?
Adrianna Boussac / Adri-: The themes are just there. It’s coming to me naturally. It can be an object, a color, a movement, a line, who call my attention and I go this way. Most of the time, my artwork regroups different themes.
How has your art changed over time? Why?
Adrianna Boussac / Adri-: Through this thirteen years of work I had several reflections due to my art. I can observe that all of my preoccupations are now naturally in symbiosis. It’s strange that how a lot make sense now. Sometimes, I take a road far away from usual but I understand why after. That’s really interesting.

What names do you give your artworks?
Adrianna Boussac / Adri-: The series’ names are really simples and effectives. I try with one word to put a vibe. Sometimes, I try to give a clue like for “Circuits”.
What do you usually talk about with your collectors?
Adrianna Boussac / Adri-: With my collectors we speak about the work they are buying and the series. Most of the time, I try to answers their questions.
