From the preface, written by Anita Ruso:
„Large formats are a kind of signature for Antonia Čačić, and so is the acrylic technique which conditions the softness of the canvas protagonists. These are neither geometricized nor ornamental, nor are they anthropomorhic or zoomorphic, and yet we keep wanting to discern a shape beyond their aestheticized appearance. Her works, as contemplative as they are, also invite us to an active quest, as if to dive into the weightlessness of the sea, the surface of which is glimmering and twisting.
In a time when things appear and disappear at a fast pace, Antonia Čačić’s works come to life throught a slow and mindfull orcherstration of dissolved and overlapping forms; one next to another, one beneath the other. The result is a layered handwriting, devoid in its subtlety of thick and opaque coats of paint. It is as if Čačić’s movements have allowed the wind to comb throught them and make them translucent. Her large canvases breathe and spread around them the freshness of their breaths, making not only the composition attractive, but also the whole atmosphere around the canvas. This atmosphere discretely stretches beyond its space, inconspicuously as dew evaporating.“
