Bio
Ernest Stanica – An artist creating in symbiosis with nature
Ernest Stanica is a contemporary artist who combines his passion for sculpture with his fascination with the power of nature in his work. His bas-reliefs, carved in deep black and inspired by rock structures, constitute an extraordinary dialogue between form, material and space. In his works, Stanica searches for the primal power of nature, which – like a record in a rock – remains eternal, unchanging, and at the same time full of life.
A sculptor by education, Stanica has been exploring the techniques of processing stone and other noble materials for years. His artistic approach is deeply rooted in the observation of nature, whose raw structures are an endless inspiration for him. The artist assumes that every rock, stone or depression in the ground is a unique record of history – both geological and human.

Black bas-reliefs – the power of nature in the form of sculpture
Deep black bas-reliefs are works that go beyond the traditional boundaries of decoration, becoming stories about the power of nature. Their forms, inspired by rock structures, bring to mind the primordial power of the earth – raw, majestic and full of secrets. Black, the choice of color that is not subject to change, neither to light nor shadows, becomes a space in which stone forms take on a unique character.
Each bas-relief is like a fragment of the past, recorded in the rock structure, the severity of which contrasts with the subtle drawing of details. Its surface, although smooth, is vibrant with a micro-scale texture that fully reflects nature in its original forms. Approaching such a work, we notice how subtle cracks, depressions and convexities create harmony, which is both the result of human creativity and a reflection of the untamed power of nature.
