Emilia Tor – An artist who paints space by sculpting images

23 June 2025 Geometric Abstraction Hard-edge Painting Informel Matter Painting / Haute Pate

Emilia Tor is an artist whose work is like a fabric of space, woven from luminous forms and shadows. Her works are spatial sculptures-paintings that do not close themselves in a plane, but go out into the world, creating a dialogue with space. It is art that invites the viewer to enter another dimension – to a world in which sculpture and painting become one, intertwining in a harmonious story about matter, light and time.

Spatial paintings – paintings touching space
Her works are sensual and organic compositions that combine the strength of shapes, the delicacy of textures and the intensity of colours. There is no room for boundaries in her sculptures-paintings – every line, every texture emerges from the plane and creates a space in which you can lose yourself. The sensuality she introduces makes these sculptures breathe, and every angle, every movement of light gives them new life. These are works that have no end – they change depending on the moment, as if they had their own mysterious rhythms.

Matters in the play of light
In her works, Emilia Tor uses materials that slowly reveal their secrets. Plaster, wood, metal – raw, but in her hands they become carriers of subtle emotions. The texture of plaster, delicate as a seashell on the seashore, or the hardness of metal that knows no compromise – each of these materials extracts unique shapes in it, which are both the effect of intimate reflection and spatial expression.

In her sculptures-paintings, light, like an elusive spirit, dances across the surface, creating effects that change depending on the angle of view. Shadows bring to life forms that, although they seem static at first, tell their story at every moment, with every change of light, with every touch.

A story about space
The spatiality of her works is more than just three-dimensional shapes – it is a story about a space that is alive, in which shapes seem to pulsate, creating a new reality that the artist shares with the viewer. This is art that does not allow indifference. Entering her world, the viewer loses themselves in the interaction with matter – they touch it, examine it, enter into a dialogue with the space that she creates.

Emilia Tor paints not only with color, but also with form, shape, matter, which in her works are like an invitation to meet the elusive. It is a space that lives, that can change – depending on the light, touch, mood. It is an experience that is not one-time, but permanent and endless.

Sensual symphony of forms and colors
Her works are a symphony of forms, in which every line, every detail becomes like a melody that lasts in space. In Tor’s sculptures, there is a dialogue between matter and the viewer – between what is tangible and what is invisible. The space that she creates is not dead. It is a living tissue that reflects the pulse of life at every moment, in every changing form.

Emilia Tor breaks the boundaries of painting and sculpture in her work, introducing the viewer to a world that is full of sensual discoveries and emotions. In her spatial sculptures-images, you can feel not only the touch of matter, but also the breath of art that lives, that gives itself to space. Her works are an invitation to discover art anew, at any time and from any side.
